Fast Growing Microfinance Bank Selects FatPipe SD-WAN to Meet Rapid Deployment and Scaling Demand

SALT LAKE CITY, UT and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - November 04, 2015) - A top microfinance bank* has chosen FatPipe SD-WAN technology to accommodate rapid growth. The institution is in the middle of rapid expansion where it is planning for the number of its physical branches to grow to 200+ locations. Many of these branches will be located in rural communities, making traditional MPLS connectivity cost prohibitive.

"It is very clear we need a robust and resilient connectivity solution," stated an area manager with the bank. "We expect the number of area offices to continue to grow even after this rapid expansion."

FatPipe was chosen as the solution because its patented SD-WAN technology allows for a simple solution for managing paths across multiple WAN connections. The bank is able to choose locally available Internet connections and allows the FatPipe solution to ensure interconnectivity.

According to the bank's Information Technology Director, the need to secure VPN connection between head office and branch offices will pose a security threat in exchange of information between offices. He also mentioned the lack of technology to ensure efficient utilization of available bandwidth for business critical applications. It was also a challenge for them to centrally manage branch systems in one location and to have full control and visibility about the status of each site. Lastly, future proof solution that is scalable to technologies' adapting change.

"Because our head office and branch offices had different ISPs, we needed a WAN performance solution that could seamlessly provide aggregation and redundancy of links connecting all the area offices to our MIS hub and site-to-site VPNs linking our headquarters' network to area offices. And after thorough review and evaluation of the available solutions, the clear decision for the company is to move forward and implement FatPipe as the main network infrastructure for our system," he added.

This solution will be showcased as a part of ONUG's SD-WAN workgroup PoC Demonstration at ONUG Fall 2015.

"As the #1 company in SD-WAN, we were happy to be a part of ONUG's demonstrations," added Dr. Ragula Bhaskar, President and CEO of FatPipe Networks. "We appreciate ONUG bringing attention to the software-defined hybrid WAN market we have been pioneering and evangelizing for the past decade. We were happy to show the ONUG community a typical enterprise network in which we are deployed."

FatPipe is deployed in thousands of enterprise networks around the world. FatPipe has field proven interoperability with all mature vendors such as Adtran, Avaya, Checkpoint, Cisco, Citrix, Fortigate, Watchguard, Oracle, Palo Alto, Riverbed, Shortel, and VMWare
